Speaking Engagements

As a university professor, researcher, published author, and clinical practitioner, Dr. Baden has frequently addressed groups interested in issues related to adoption, particularly transracial adoption. In this capacity she has provided workshops to groups of families, transracial adoptees (children through young adults), adoptive parents, teachers, counselors, clinical practitioners, and other organizations.

Dr. Baden presents on a variety of different topic areas related to adoption including:
• transracial adoption
• talking about adoption with your adopted child, tween, teen
• adoptee development though the lifespan
• psychotherapeutic issues for the adoption triad
• talking about race and culture with your transracially adopted child, tween, or teen
• parenting issues for adoptive parents
• what your adopted children think about but may not say
• searching for heritage, birth family, and personal history internationally: lessons, struggles, and clinical issues
