The study referred to focuses on gaining a better
understanding of the unique experiences of transracial
adoptees who are now young adults. To participate in the
study, I ask that you complete some brief questionnaires.
Your participation will contribute to our understanding of
transracial adoption, and I need your help.
If
you meet the eligibility requirements (between 18 and 40
years old and are a transracial adoptee) and if you contact
me and consent to participate, I will send you a link to
the online survey. Your responses to the questionnaires
will be kept completely confidential. That means that
although I, as the researcher, will have knowledge of your
name and identifying information, none of that information
will be revealed to anyone else. I alone will have that
information and you, as a participant, will not be
identified in any way through this research.
The questionnaires require you to consider your adoptive
history and your adoptive family. The items also ask you to
report information about you personally. This information
will be kept confidential. The questionnaires are brief and
should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The
results of this research will be published on this website
and in a professional journal. I will use the results of
this research to enable professionals to better understand
the experiences of transracial adoptees. This research will
also aid in the development of better ways to ensure the
positive and healthy adjustment of all transracial
adoptees. If you read this at any time during those times
and if you are interested, please feel free to contact
me.
